Well as my grandmother used to say “It’s all over, but the shouting”.  President Obama has been re-elected for a 2nd term and the airwaves can once again return to not having a constant stream of political ads.

But… that doesn’t mean I couldn’t find a few songs that highlight politics and the election process here and in other countries!  8-)

So do you prefer red states?  Or do  you prefer blue states?  If I remember my grade school art lessons correctly I guess it means we now live in the purple states!

  1. “Politician” – Cream
  2. “High Hopes” – Frank Sinatra
  3. “A Design for Life” – Manic Street Preachers
  4. “Waiting on the World to Change” – John Mayer
  5. “Be Careful How You Vote” – Sunnyland Slim
  6. “Think” – Aretha Franklin (from The Blues Brothers)
  7. “Won’t Get Fooled Again” – The Who

Enjoy…

  1. Oh man, the number of times I’ve sung “Won’t get fooled again” after an Election.
