Joe Arnold over at A&R Worldwide out of Los Angeles clued me into one of the best bands I’ve heard in a longtime. A&R Worldwide has had the smarts (and the good fortune) to breakthrough acts such as Coldplay, Adele, and Muse. Let the global stardom begin!

An energetic and exciting quartet from the East Coast of Ireland called “The Enemies“.  As soon as I heard the first bars of “Perfect Stranger” I was hooked.  They initially reminded me a bit of a more upbeat version of Crowded House with clear influence from Foo Fighters and The Fray but they are very reminiscent of the Irish band “Aslan” (one my favorites).

You can find out more about the band at:  http://www.theenemiesmusic.com/

They’ve been through some recent personnel changes but from the band leader’s blog:

“A call out of the blue one day presented us with a new rhythm section in Dazzy Oglesby (royseven) on drums and John Boy Berkley on Bass. So we hit the rehearsal room and we clicked in an instant. We’d been invited to perform at Scotland’s Go North festival in Inverness so the following week we arrived in the north highlands with the new line up. After a rapturous response at our 30 minute show we got approached by some important industry people and a week later we sign with LA based agency A&R Worldwide.”

I expect we’ll all be hearing a lot from The Enemies in the future.  You heard it here first!  8-)

  1. “Perfect Stranger”
  2. “Pretty Valentine”
  3. Short album promo video
  4. Live video

Enjoy….
